Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver is a 34 year old chef from England. He completed his schooling from the Newport Free Grammar School. He later graduated from the Westminster Catering College. After that he worked at many places including Fulham. Here the BBC noticed him and learnt about his about his capabilities. He married Juliette Norton in the year 2000. They first met when Oliver was just 18 years old. They now have 3 children and the last one was born on April 2009, as Jamie publicly announced it on twitter.

He is a guy who has the intention to do something good for the society and he thinks that by using his fame and money he’ll be able to achieve his dreams. It all started with a restaurant with fifteen people, who were disadvantaged and were jobless. He trained those people and gave them work to do in the restaurant. Since this was a great success, it prompted him to start “fifteen restaurants” at many other places in the world. At the moment, he has such restaurants at Melbourne (2006), Amsterdam (2004), and Newquay (2006). He has mentioned about how he created and opened these restaurants in his TV series “Jamie’s Kitchen”.

Jamie was against fast food and he started campaigns against the same in schools in order to ban such foods in school and to provide students with fresh and nutritious food. He started conveying the same idea through his TV series “Jamie’s School Dinners”. This made his idea much more popular and it did prove to many schools how the students out there could benefit from eating healthy food. The end result was that – there occurred some changes in the meals system in schools and students since then have been provided with fresh, tasty and nutritious food.
