An auction house is a great place to find good design investments because they have taken much of the work out of the process. They have already had the pieces appraised, inspected and priced. All you have to do is show up and bid to get the item. Generally, with an auction house if you are a registered bidder before the auction takes place you will have the advantage of advance viewing to see the pieces in person and inspect them for yourself. You will also receive a program for the auction which shows reserve amounts and other detailed information about each piece for the most informed bidding on your part.
